Soprano Sarah Mileham is an emerging New Zealand artist from Tauranga, now based in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. She completed her Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington, studying with Jenny Wollerman, and graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Waikato under the tutelage of Anna Leese in 2024. Sarah currently studies with Nikki Li Hartliep, supported by the Te Pae Kōkako Dame Malvina Major Foundation Opera Grant.
In 2024, Sarah made her debut with New Zealand Opera as Maria Bertram in Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park and as Countess Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto. She later toured nationally as Adina in Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love for the NZ Opera Schools Tour (2024–2025) and will appear as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro in 2026. A rapidly rising competition artist, Sarah won the 2025 Coombes Johnston BMW New Zealand Aria, the Ōtautahi Aria, the Wellington Aria, and the Southland Aria, having previously received first place in the Nicholas Tarling Aria and the DMMF Waikato Aria.
